Valley City, North Dakota
Valley City is a progressive community that
is in close proximity to major ND cities. Our strategic location
is excellent for business recruitment and tourism development.
Another unique feature of the community is the expansion of
the antique and craft sector of the retail community. Valley
City is becoming widely known for the unique shopping experience
it can provide and is quickly becoming a destination for those
from neighboring cities seeking something out of the ordinary.
Stretching 63 miles along the breathtaking Sheyenne River
Valley, from Baldhill Dam to Lisbon following ancient Native
American foot paths and pioneer wagon trails, the Sheyenne
River Valley Scenic Byway was awarded National Byway designation
in June, 2002. Whether it’s snowmobiling, cross-country
or downhill skiing in the winter or fishing, hiking, biking
or canoeing in the summer, the possibilities abound on our
byway. In the spring, the air is perfumed with the scent of
blooming lilacs, chokecherries, juneberries and wild plums
but the valley is especially scenic in the fall of the year.
The green, golden yellows, and deep red colors combined are
breathtaking as one winds their way through the valley. Or
take a visit to Lake Ashtabula which is located 12 miles NW
of Valley City, ND and is situated in one of the most scenic
river valleys in the region offering visitors a wide range
of recreation opportunities. Popular activities include boating,
camping, fishing, hunting, picnicking, swimming and snowmobiling.
When your ready to take it indoors head on over to downtown
Valley City where you can shop for antiques, crafts, art and

Parlour for some great coffee, espresso and ice cream. If
