Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy Jobs in
Shreveport, Louisiana

The city of Shreveport was founded in 1836 by the Shreve Town Company- a corporation established to develop a town where the Red River and the Texas Trail meet. Incorporated in 1871, Shreveport was named after Captain Henry Miller Shreve, who was instrumental in clearing the Red River for commerce. Today, Shreveport is the region’s center for banking, gaming, arts and government.
The original sixty-four city blocks has become the city’s central business district and has been designated on the National Register of Historic Places. Shreveport is second only to New Orleans amongst Louisiana cities with numerous historical landmarks. For a great mixture of the old and new head to Commerce Street. This historic area is now the waterfront “club scene”. Enjoy country to Cajun, from pop to rock. A new urban entertainment district is being created in the Red River District with nightclubs, eateries and comedy clubs. Shreveport is also home to Harrah’s and Hollywood Casinos.
From culture to crazy, Shreveport has it all. Enjoy an evening at the Metropolitan Ballet or go wild at the Mudbug Madness. This regional tradition features food and music and of course the Mudbug (crawfish)! Be sure to look to the skies and enjoy the free shows brought to you by Barksdale Air Force Base, operating since 1933. Once you have visited, you may not want to leave!
