Physical
Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech TherapyJobs in
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo
Mountains at an elevation of 7,000 feet, it’s more than
the altitude that causes spirits to rise, Santa Fe is an exhilarating,
mood-lifting city.
The air is fresh and the legendary light is as amazing as
everyone says. While phrases like Santa Fe style, mystique
and enchantment can easily develop into cliches, Santa Fe
is startling in its physical beauty, alluring for its invigorating
mix of cultures, and fascinating for its diverse lifestyles.
Santa Fe is both the oldest and highest capital city in the
United States. Founded in 1610, a full decade before the Pilgrims
landed at Plymouth Rock, the Spaniards formally estab-lished
the City of Santa Fe as their colonial capital. The area had
previously been home to the Anasazi, precursors of the Pueblo
peoples, who reached the pinnacle of their civiliza-tion in
AD 1000-1300.
Santa Fe still retains the flavor of another time and has
earned a reputation as the most
European city in the United States. There’s magnificent
views of the mountains that
unfold from the city’s foothills. Although it’s
easy to envision the days of mule teams car-rying wool to
the market, shopping is much easier these days. Narrow streets,
once hard-packed by burros, are now lined with vintage pick
up trucks, Range Rovers, and mountain bikes. The Plaza, which
marks the end of the Santa Fe Trail, was once filled with
wagon trains and traders. Today, it is a hub of pleasant commerce
with museums, galleries and boutiques.
