minutes from the State Capital, Montpelier. A short drive
from some of the best skiing in the US, Barre is just two
hours from Montreal and three hours from Boston (a bit shorter
for Turbo folks). Barre is a unique Vermont community in many
respects. No small part of this uniqueness is the unusual
mixture of nationalities which makes Barre a colorful patchwork

or just visit Barre the attractions that take place here entertain

park in the Northeast, Great Escape Amusement Park and the
famous Family Scarecrow Building contest that takes place
in October. When the snow comes our way treat yourself to
some all day fun down-hill skiing at the Stowe Mountain Resort
which is only a 30 minute drive away from Barre. But skiing
is not the only winter activity in Stowe, Vermont. Why not
spend a day of winter fun ice fishing on some of Vermont's
most scenic bodies of water in pursuit of various game fish
and pan fish. There are numerous frozen lakes and ponds to
ice fish for winter vacationers. If it's too cold outside
why not treat yourself when visiting Barre to some great home
cooked meals at A Single Pebble or homemade pizza at Del's
Pizza & Pasta House.
